Joseph Dresden ( 1998 / 2541 ) Belgian - Thai - American

I am a Bangkok born, Chicago based artist who grew up as a mixed race child in America. Ever since I could walk, I was surrounded by a house full of art from all different time periods. Whether it was impressionist landscapes, traditional Thai folk art, vinyl album covers, or my families own paintings; they inspired me to create images equally calming and chaotic. Although, my greatest inspiration comes from nature, and having lived over 200 nights outdoors. The dynamic ways colors of the natural world sit together in harmony push my creativity. I work primarily with oil and acrylic painting focusing in the Abstract, Expressionist, and Contemporary styles. My toolbelt of palette knives and brushes lend to my ability to create expressive, evocative, and emotional works.
